With a diverse fleet ranging from cars, vans, and box trucks to tractors and trailers, we are equipped to handle deliveries of any size or urgency. Our team consists of professional, uniformed drivers and a skilled dispatch team, supported by the latest tracking and mapping technologies. History of A-1 Delivery
With one pickup truck and a one-ton stake-bed, Larry and Earl embarked on their dream. January 1978 marked the start of A-1’s journey. The early team consisted of four independent contractors and one dedicated dispatcher.
Growing Pains & New Horizons
In 1979, A-1 Delivery expanded into a downtown warehouse, solidifying its presence. Two decades later, July 1999 marked a significant milestone: Gerald Anhalt, formerly accountant, and brother Melvyn acquired the company. By December, A-1 Delivery settled into its current location at 5322 Elm Street.
The early 2000s welcomed Randy Anhalt at the helm, guiding A-1 Delivery’s continued growth along with Craig Evans, and Ray Evans, together building a support team of Customer service personal, Sales agents, Dispatch teams and rotating but professional driver forces, here in Houston Tx. and New Orleans Louisiana.
Significant merger: A-1 Delivery joined forces with Rapid Delivery Service, founded by Gordon McMillian in 1967 and eventually opening Beeline Delivery passing it to Jay McMillan, who re-opened Rapid Delivery Inc. from a 3rd of Beeline in July of 2000 and eventually merged with A-1 Delivery Services, Inc. October 1, 2023, integrating another renowned Houston delivery service under Randy Anhalt’s leadership.
Today, A-1 Delivery boasts enhanced capabilities, rich history, and unwavering commitment to exceptional service.
